Brake System Invented by Filipino "Break Leak Saving Valve"

A Former Jeepney Driver Invented a new Layer of Protection in the Hydraulic Brake System of Vehicle to Reduce the Number of Road Accidents.

The Inventor of Leak Saving Valve for Breaking System is invented by Mr. Melchor Henosa, a device that immediately stops any leak of brake fluid enabling the driver to regain control of the vehicle  and to avoid collision and other deadly accidents.

Melchor said, that at present the Drivers are only advised to properly maintain their vehicles and avoid being reckless on the road, but even if as a normal driver there is a chance that the break fluid can leak and they lose the power to control . This is why drivers need the break leak sealing valve.

Melchor Henosa who reached second year high school developed the ide as early as 2010 while waiting for a cousin at the car park of Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Because of the long waiting time, he looked at a vehicle and thought about the need for check valve in case of fluid depletion, because he had experience of "lost brake" indidents as a driver. His imagination was triggered when he went home. A few days later at early 2 am in the morning he started illustrating a design for the brake leak sealing valve.

Melchor Henosa who used to drive a jeepney in Silang Cavite and serve as an auto mechanic at the same time, compared his invention to a fuse which protects an electrical circuit and prevents excess currents. Melchor mentions "It is like an electric fuse which prevents fire. With Break Leak Sealing Valve, we can prevent loss of brake fluid. Once you press down the break pedal, your brake system becomes functional again which is very, very powerful to control the vehicle.

The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines approved the patent for Henosa's invention on April 8, 2013 or nearly 19 months after he submitted the application on September 16, 2011. Nobody contested his application for the territorial patent, providing that it was of unique design. No existing device anywhere in the world was designed for the same purpose.

After he obtained the patent in April 2013 he began the long process of developing and perfecting the product. He was able to produce 500 pieces initially which were used by drivers based in Antipolo, Tagaytay and Sta. Rosa. These initial products has been recalled for more development and improvement. At present Melchor says he is now ready for mass production of the brake leak sealing valve, it is ideal for all types of vehicles using hydraulic systems such as jeepyneys, elfs, delivery vans, trucks and cars. The complete packages costs 4,000 Pesos.

Melchor Henosa received the Outstanding Invention Award from the Department of Science and Technology and a Gold Medal from the World Intellectual Property Organization in 2016.

Melchor Henosa encourages other inventors to file for patent with IPO as a way of protecting their IP Right.

Benefits of Installing a Spoiler on Your Car

Benefits of Spoiler

A spoiler is a car accessory that changes the aerodynamics of a car. It is usually a separate device added to the rear of a vehicle though there are some types of spoilers that are added to the front bumper.

Installing a spoiler in your car provides a variety of benefits for owners. The main benefits, perhaps, are for better traction and to add a sporty look, but also include other advantages, such as increased fuel efficiency, added visibility, reduced car weight, and braking stability.

MAINTAIN TRACTION

The benefit if installing a spoiler on a car is to help it maintain traction at very high speeds. Generally when a car goes very fast the air pressure can lift the car, which makes it difficult to maneuver the car without danger of having it spin out of control. Rear spoilers in particular push back of the car down so the tires can grip the road better increasing stability.

INCREASE FUEL EFFICIENCY

Front car spoilers or air dams can actually increase gas mileage in some cars. Since these types of spoilers reduce the drag by pushing the air around the car, it does lower the amount of energy of fuel the car needs to burn to propel itself forward.

ADDED VISIBILITY

Another advantage of installing a rear spoiler on a car is the added visibility. This means other drivers on the road can easily see the car and prevent rear end collision and other types of accidents. Certain spoilers such as trunk cap spoilers even have break lights at eye level so the driver behind can easily be alerted when the car is slowing down or braking.

REDUCE WEIGHT

Believe it or Not a spoiler can reduce the weight of a vehicle. The only thing keeping a car stable on the road is its weight. Perhaps that is why many people have this perception that SUVs are much safer because their heavier mass keeps them steady. However having a spoiler means that the car manufacturer can reduce the weight without worry that driving at high speeds will cause the car to become steady and fly off the highway.

CREATE A STYLISH LOOK

Most car owners install spoilers as a fashion accessory and spoilers do a pretty good job of making a car look cool. This idea first became popular in the 1970s when Porsche introduced the 911 Turbo which featured whale tail spoilers on the back. Today many car manufacturers release their models with built in spoilers to evoke that sport look though many aftermarket spoilers are available for a wide variety of car makes and models.

INCREASE BRAKING STABILITY

Adding spoiler that raise the downward force on the back of the car not only increases traction but braking ability as well. Drivers will have an easier time braking, even at high speeds making driving even safer.

TYPES OF SPOILERS

Pedestal Spoiler -  A popular type of spoiler found in the rear of a car, on top of the trunk and improves stability while adding stylish look.

Front Spoiler - Added to the front of the car to lessen the drag created by rear spoilers; blocks and unstable air currents from entering the chassis; also called an air dam.

Lip Spoiler - Smaller and sleeker than regular rear spoilers; usually added for aesthetics but can be useful in reducing lift at higher speeds.

Wings - A type of spoiler seen on race cars and some customize street cars; much larger than regular rear spoilers and mounted on a bracket or pedestals, generates a down force that creates a drag to stabilize the vehicle.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution History

 1992 Evolution
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Version V were the officially approved models for Mitsuhishi's goal to be in the World Rally Championship Group A and in order to follow the rules, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is based on the same platform as the Mitsubishi Lancer but more powerful.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution or Lancer Evo was born after the success of Galant VR-4 in the World Rally Championship. Mitsubishi Motors Japan would like to expand  their success into smaller sedan vehicles and chosen Mitsubishi Lancer to be customize for the purpose of World Rally. In 1990 Mitsubishi Engineers started the VR4 and later applied to Lancer and was called the Evolution.

The Lancer Evolution was introduced in 1992 to compete in the World Rally Championship carrying its 2.0L turbocharged DOHC engine and with 4 wheel Drive train from its original sister vehicle Mitsubishi Galat VR4. The competition in the World Rally Championship requires 2,500 production models and so it was made by Mitsubishi motors offering the GSR and RS, and 5,000 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution was given away from 1992 to 1993. Mitsubishi's intention was to have a good starting point in light weight rally car category.

In 1996 till 1999 The Lancer Evolution was very successful when it comes to World Rally Championship Rallies, The Lancer Evolution was unique among its competitors in Group A car which is the slightly modified.

The Mitsubishi Evolution was originally intended only for Japanese markets but demanded to be imported in the United Kingdom, it was offered by Mitsubishi Motors  as limited type. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution have been produce from 1993 up to today with Evolution Versions VI, VII, VII and IX which does not need to meet World Rally Championship requirements.

The 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution includes a turbocharged 286 horseP inline four-cylinder engine and a full-time all wheel drive powertrain. Variable valve timing is an Evolution first in 2006, coming in the form of MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve-timing-and-lift Electronic Control).
Japanese specification cars were limited by a gentleman's agreement to advertise no more than 280 PS (276 hp), a mark already reached by the time of Evolution IV; however, each generation of Evo's power has clandestinely evolved above the advertised number, with the Japan-spec Evo IX having real output of about 320 PS, and various versions available in other markets, particularly the UK, have official power outputs up to 405 bhp (302 kW). Even standard components are considered "tuned" compared to other vehicles. For instance, the flywheel on normal cars weighs about 12-15 kilograms but the Lancer flywheel weighs a mere 6 kilos for very quick engine response.

Unfortunately, the Evo has also been evolving into a heavier and heavier vehicle with each generation in face of tougher worldwide safety and emission regulations.
