Mazda Astina 1993 - 1994 Still Available in the Philippines

The only sport sedan with unique pop-up (Kurap Mata) headlights that was sold in the Philippines in the Years 1993 till 1994.

The Mazda Astina is a one of a kind and a dream car of Pinoys in the 90's. It is a sport like car and a sedan with a combination of hatchback that really attracts and got the attention of Pinoy sport car lovers, unfortunately the performance was a sedan and the looks are the only asset.

Mazda Astina is a Front wheel drive car with Single Overhead Cam (SOHC) Carbureted (Karborador) with 1.5 to 1.6 liter engines, the available color paint was white, light blue, red, yellow and black. Later years, the model was slight revised with new Fuel Injected (EFI) Double Overhead Cam (DOHC) 16 Valve in 1.8 L Engine. Although the design is sporty the Mazda Astina was not made as a sports car, it is just a sports look; the turbo engine was only customized and done with back wheel drive by pinoy sport lovers.

The Mazda Astina models starts from 1993 and improves its model design and paint colors till 1994 only. The production was stop because of  low sales and re-sell price. Until today 2020 Mazda Astina is still sold in some used cars showroom with great value but cheap price. So if you want some sport design car with pop up headlights you can have it as cheap as 80 thousand pesos, but if you need to have a sport like engine then you need to customize and improved by changing the engine.
